In the search for the best espresso (a story for another day) in the Triangle area, we came across Press Coffee, Crepes & Cocktails in Durham:
359 Blackwell St, Durham, NC 27701

“Press is a European-inspired coffeehouse offering a variety of lovingly prepared, high quality beverages served alongside a changing breakfast and lunch menu focused on locally sourced ingredients. Press evolves throughout the day, allowing our guests to enjoy breakfast crepes, coffee, salads, sandwiches and cocktails as the hours deliciously pass by.” – Press
The European-inspired espresso did not disappoint. Neither did the food and the rest of the drinks so we kept coming back. We recommend trying their crepes which are delicious (“Crepe Hunt” is also another story for later). This is a great brunch spot that we highly recommend.

Just fyi:
- Press opened a new location in Raleigh and it is just as good as the Durham location
- Parking is not easy in both locations
- Expect long wait times on the weekend (it is worth the wait)
Pro tip for the Raleigh location: check out Taverna Agora, a Greek Kitchen and Bar, if the wait time is too long. It’s a great date spot with rooftop seating and only a 2 minute walk from Press.
Pro tips for the Durham location: park at Corcoran Street Parking Garage (110 Corcoran St, Durham, NC 27701) which is free on the weekend. When you arrive and check in, enter through the side door to order a coffee and then take a walk through American Tobacco Campus, across the street from Press, while you wait.
