Two Roosters: the #1 ice cream spot in Raleigh

215 E Franklin St #120, Raleigh, NC 27604

Two Roosters in Raleigh has been our absolute favorite ice cream spot in the triangle. Although they do have multiple locations, we love to frequent their Franklin St location since it is conveniently located next to other cool date spots:

  • Edge of Urge — A funky shop with a variety of fun gifts and clothing. You must stop by because words do not do it justice. They have so many fun things!
  • Wine Authorities Raleigh ~ Wine Shop — great selection of wine; free wine tasting (during certain hours); drink there or take a bottle to go.
  • Standard Beer + Food — A tasty restaurant and brewery that offers a variety of food (we recommend their tacos), beers, and cocktails.
Just across the street…
  • Unlikely Professionals — a hip clothing store with a bar
  • So & So Books — A small but cute bookstore with a laid back vibe.

And so many more cool spots to check out within very short walking distance. This area is filled with awesome date spots and they all deserve a blog post of their own.

The story behind Two Roosters

“We started Two Roosters with an old truck and a dream to use the joy of ice cream to make a good day great and a bad day better. We have dedicated ourselves to making ice cream the best way we know how, by hand. Along the way we have learned the ultimate business and life lesson: Love People. Love Ice Cream. In that Order.” (read their full story)

Fun monthly flavors

Every month Two Roosters introduces unique and delicious new Guest flavors that are only available for that month. These guest flavors keep us coming back for more. Typically each month has a theme. One of Kayla’s all time favorites was back in 2022. The theme was children’s books and movies and in honor of Beauty and the Beast Two Roosters created Lumiere’s Grey Stuff. A blended cookies and cream base (yes it was indeed grey) with ripples of buttercream frosting.

This past November Two Roosters outdid themselves with their collaboration with the NC Art Museum. One notable flavor was the Red Velvet, in honor of the “Seeing Red” exhibit, which had a cream cheese base with chunks of red velvet cake and ripples of cream cheese frosting.

Dairy free? No problem.

Not to worry if you’re dairy free. Each month at least one Guest flavor is dairy free. For December, Two Roosters is offering a Non Dairy Christmas Cookie, a oat-vanilla base with gluten free sugar cookies, holiday sprinkles, and dairy free buttercream frosting.

Their regular flavors do not disappoint at all (just like their sugar cones). We recommend trying them all starting with Sea Salt Chip Cookie Dough.

Parking and other locations

Parking is usually easy right in the parking lot by Two Roosters. During peak hours, it’s usually not difficult to find street parking within 2-3 minute walk.

They also do have other locations and their ice cream is… well.. just as good! But we still recommend checking out Franklin St. location as the the ultimate date spot due to the proximity to many other things to do within a walking distance.
